What is a fish exchange?

If a cruise on one of the Disney Cruise Line ships is in your future, you may wish to add some extra magic to your adventure by participating in a Fish Exchange. A Fish Exchange (FE) is a gift exchange with other guests on board the ship.

How do you package a fish exchange gift?

You don't have to package your gifts in any particular way. You'll want the recipient to know who it's from, though. Typically, gift-givers will include a label on fish exchange gifts. These tags will show the recipient who gave the gift, including name and cabin number (both optional). For clarification, ask your FE group for details.

What is a fish extender?

This fish is used for Disney Cruise Line to share communications with you like a reservation reminder for Remy or Palo, excursion tickets, receipts, etc. Think of it as a mailbox to get information from a crew member to you. A Fish Extender is something that you hang from the fish (like the organizer below) extending the “mailbox”.

How do fish exchange gas?

The gaseous exchange in fish happens through highly vascularised gills. The unidirectional water flow is facilitated by a special pumping mechanism that is present in most fish. In some molluscs and fishes, this mechanism greatly enhances the efficiency of gills as water flows across the gills, in the opposite direction of blood flow.
